MakerBot, a global leader in 3D printing, revealed that Pensa, one of its first customers to use the MakerBot Method, is already streamlining its product design and development processes. The agency works with industry-leading corporations and startups, including GoTenna, OXO, Bayer, One Blade, D.I. Wire, One Drop and Pepsico.
The equipment is used by designers and engineers for a wide variety of uses, including printing fixtures or final parts, conducting form studies, as well as volume and functional testing. According to Mark Perry, co-founder of Pensa, it gives the company more freedom to test.
“The dimensional precision it offers us is as good or better than that obtained with any industrial FDM printer. Now, we use 3D printing in the early stages of our process and we can carry out rapid iterations, which allows us to verify the functionality, ergonomics and mechanics of the products, ”said the manager.
