Amut launches a new cast line for the production of CPP film

3 April, 2018

The Amut Group, represented in Spain by Protecnic 1967, has started the year with the presentation of the first line of the ACP series dedicated to the production of CPP film. This line with a net width of 2,100 mm is expressly designed for the production of both film with a smooth surface that is generally used in generic applications and for the production of film with an embossed surface used for stationery items, such as, for example, document folders.

The cooling group consists of a main and a secondary chill roll. In order to produce both types, the line includes the supply of two main chill rolls with quick change system. This plant represents an innovative project also for the 4-layer multi-channel head that allows to obtain a very precise distribution of the layers using 4 extruders.

A model DV vacuum air knife works together with the extrusion head. In this way, the position of the head can be modified with respect to the chill roll as well as the angle of incidence of the film on the chill roll, always guaranteeing the correct position of the air knife and completely eliminating the ‘orange peel’ effect.

Being the very thin DV air knife, it guarantees a high suction impact. This feature greatly reduces the amount of wax on the chill roll and at the same time improves surface cleaning, cooling and appearance of the film in terms of transparency and gloss.

The winder with independent rotary arms is equipped with an in-line multiple cutting system for the production of finished coils without reducing the maximum diameter and without glue. Another innovation is the very compact design: a 2,100 mm wide line occupies an area of only 120 m².
