Soteria FRV material will be on display in the Product Innovation Zone at the International Composites Summit in London on September 8 and 9.
Trelleborg introduced Soteria FRV, a new ultralight and fire resistant material for use in protecting electric vehicle (EV) batteries and in higher fire risk applications.
Soteria FRV is the second material in the company’s Soteria range of protective materials. Weighing only 1.2 kg / m2 and extremely flexible, Soteria FRV can be molded to fit any size area; it can also be draped or wrapped around difficult profiles.
When combined with Soteria FR1500 panels, it creates lightweight protection for EV battery boxes and cabinets. It can also serve as a standalone option for applications with increased fire risk.
Soteria FRV is flame resistant up to 1100 ° C for up to 90 minutes, without burning or expanding during a fire, according to Trelleborg. There is no ongoing maintenance required once it has been installed and it is easy to transport.
The Soteria FRV material will be on display in the Product Innovation Zone at the International Composites Summit in London on September 8 and 9. The summit is a joint exhibition and open forum focused on the global compounds supply chain. More information about the event is available here.
