Air Liquide, Groupe PSA, Schneider Electric and Valeo face the challenge of producing 10,000 respirators.
The lack of medical equipment in France calls on several companies in the industry to get to work against COVID-19.

The French government asked a group of industrial companies led by Air Liquide to study the possibility of increasing the production of respirators in order to distribute 10,000 over the next 50 days.

In response, Air Liquide, Groupe PSA, Schneider Electric and Valeo established a working group comprised of some 30 purchasing and industrialization experts to define a plan of action and increase Air Liquide Medical Systems’ respirator production.

An alliance against COVID-19

To face this industrial challenge, the contribution of 100 associated companies will be sought to provide 300 components, which are essential for the manufacture of these medical systems.

Within this working group, Valeo supports Air Liquide teams with a team of buyers in charge of supplier management and the procurement of the components necessary to produce respirators.

This equipment helps respond to the demand for accelerated production and the increased need for components in the supply chain. The company provides technical support and is very supportive thanks to its experience in plastics and the technology they have today.

In addition, they make available full-time engineers, specialized in large-scale industrial production. It will also organize the accelerated production of the respirators, establish and train the necessary production teams during the health emergency in France.

So far, 20 volunteer engineers and technicians are working to meet the production demand.
