Hubbub, a UK environmental charity, launched what it claims to be the world’s first recycled plastic trough, called Poly-Mer.
The charity, which runs environmental campaigns, has been conducting “plastic fishing” trips as part of its campaign against marine litter and said the boat, which has been made from collected garbage, will be used to carry out such trips in the waters around London’s Docklands.
The collected plastics will be used to build more boats to help clean up waterways.
The idea of plastic fishing trips and then closing the loop with a boat came from Canary Wharf College.
