The transparent mask protects from possible COVID-19 infections, while revealing the face and facial expressions
Recently, HMCARE, a Swiss startup, born from the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne, announced the collection of one million Swiss francs (€ 920 thousand) for the production and marketing of a transparent mask that not only protects against COVID-19, but also It also allows you to breathe and communicate better, compared to traditional masks.
HelloMask is the name of this mask, and unlike other alternatives, due to its design and characteristics, it will allow deaf people to read the lips of others.
It should be noted that the idea of a transparent mask is not new, however, so far, most models consist of a transparent plastic ‘window’, not recommended if you have respiratory problems.
The mask developed by HMCARE is not only transparent, it is also breathable, like a conventional mask made of Non Woven fabric. However, the key to the HelloMask is in a new type of transparent fabric, made from fibers derived from biomass arranged at 100 nanometers, and then joined in three layers.
