Aptar’s new Rocket sports cap offers visual safety to the consumer through a yellow band that indicates whether the container has been opened on the store shelf or at home. This solution redefines beverage container safety standards as the first on the market to provide a visual and intuitive non-removable tamper evident indicator.

In addition to visible safety, Rocket offers greater consumer safety with its “dust-free” double-walled cap design that protects the outlet tube from external contaminants, as well as being designed to meet child safety standards ( BSDA and EN 71 *). A large finger hole and an audible closing ‘click’ sound make opening and closing the bottle easy and reassuring for consumers.

The new cap improves what consumers and brands expect from a sports drink. For example, while most plugs open at a 110-degree angle, Rocket’s hinge technology offers a 180-degree angle. The functionality of the hinge also ensures the elimination of the spring effect of the lid. Together, the new cap provides a wider opening and a more comfortable drinking experience.

With Rocket, Aptar continues to focus on meeting new standards and sustainability goals. The tamper-evident seal is tied to the bottle with the Stay-With system, which keeps the closure attached to the bottle throughout its life cycle, thereby increasing the likelihood that the closure will be collected and shipped through the recycling stream with the container. This new product complies with upcoming regulations, including the proposed single-use plastic (SUP) directive in Europe.
