Autotex AM, antimicrobial film with multiple applications in shops

From the Barcelona Materials Center, created and promoted by the FAD, comes a new product with multiple applications at the present time. It is a flexible polyester film, which incorporates a hardened, heat-welded and textured surface, together with an antimicrobial coating, Microban.

This material is highly resistant to fatigue, scratches and multiple chemical agents, has a long service life, is UV stable and allows printing on its surface, which is ideal for use in touch controls. When bacteria come into contact with the antimicrobial composition, this function is activated, canceling the growth of bacteria and offering a hygienic surface that reduces maintenance derived from cleaning.

Autotex AM is used to coat touch devices or other devices in the medical sector, on identification plates and on furniture, such as doors or work tables, dividers in payment areas and in many other areas of a business, company or unit clinic.

Autotex AM is a flexible polyester film – specifically recycled PET from plastic bottles from the sea – that incorporates a hardened, heat-welded and textured surface, along with an antimicrobial coating (Microban). This material is highly resistant to fatigue, has a long useful life, is resistant to scratches and multiple chemical agents, is stable to UV rays, allows to print on its surface, and it is ideal for use in touch controls. Its hardened surface is coated with an antimicrobial treatment during its manufacturing process. When the bacteria come into contact with the antimicrobial composition, this function is activated, suppressing the growth of the bacteria and offering a hygienic surface. This function is also used to apply on transparent surfaces such as windows, to reduce maintenance derived from cleaning. Autotex AM film thickness varies between 150 and 200 µm.
