In Brazil, about 80 million tons of waste are generated per year and only 3% of it is recycled, therefore, the holding of the Waste Expo 2017 is a novelty, an event totally focused on Solid Waste Management, of which Tomra Sorting Recycling is an active participant.
The recycling machine company develops and offers sensor-based sorting solutions because it believes that the beginning for the proper treatment of waste passes through the recovery of the recoverable materials that are currently available, to increase the life cycle of these products. , like its Autosort Laser, which is capable of detecting even more material properties at the same point simultaneously and therefore selects material fractions more efficiently.
According to Carina Arita, commercial director of Tomra Brasil, “the benefits of recycling range from public health to the treatment of solid waste, the generation of direct and indirect jobs, the movement of the economy of the recycling industry, the protection of the environment, among other innumerable intrinsic benefits ”.
The event will launch an unpublished study by the United Nations Environment Organization – UNEP: the Atlas of Waste Management in Latin America.
