Rehau, e.GO in strategic partnership for electronic vehicles
Rehau AG, supplier of automotive polymers, has established a strategic partnership with e.GO Mobile AG for the development of new and affordable electric vehicles.
The aim of the association, in which Rehau cooperates with other collaborators, including the RWTH Aachen campus, is the further development of the e.GO project and a planned cooperation on the e.GO Mover model.
The Mover is a drop-down and drop-down minibus, which can be used for both private and commercial transportation.
“The e.GO Mover will also be able to help with autonomous driving functions,” according to Günther Schuh, professor of machine building in Aachen.
A first test fleet has been scheduled for July 2018.
According to Markus Grundmann, President of Rehau Automotive, the company’s know-how will span the entire automotive supplier value chain.
Also commenting on the project, Stefan Girschik, Deputy Director General of the Rehau Group, said that the project involved many trends, including electric mobility, autonomous driving, Industry 4.0 and individualization.
“This fits perfectly with our own image of helping international business leaders become more experienced and innovative technology experts,” said Girschik.
