Repsol successfully carried out the first production of high impact copolymers (TPOs), which complements its Polypropylene (PP) offer. It is the first time that a PP of these characteristics has been produced in the Iberian Peninsula. This new range will be marketed under the Repsol ImpactO brand.
The new materials will be used, as neat PP or as a base for compounds with high impact requirements, for the automotive, technical parts and compounders markets.
The Spanish company seeks with this incorporation to support, on the one hand, its customers in the automotive sector and OEMs, offering a new alternative as a supplier of this type of high mechanical performance materials.
This achievement is the result of the current investment plan encompassed within the differentiation strategy of the chemical business that the company has been promoting in recent years.
In addition, the European firm plans to expand this range in the future, with high impact degrees at low temperatures, which will be used for parts for the interior of the car, such as door panels or fenders, and other everyday objects such as shopping carts, suitcases or child restraint systems for cars and bicycles.
