Augmented reality, blockchain and smart sensors become more relevant in product packaging
Augmented reality, blockchain for packaging and the rapid development of sensor technology in packages have been a trend in 2018. Therefore, the World Congress of AIPIA (Active & Intelligent Packaging Industry Association) to be held on 19 and 20 November in Amsterdam, it will show not only the latest trends in smart packaging but also the connection between packaging and product manufacturing.
These technological innovations, according to information from AIPIA, can be better understood from the following bases:
1) Augmented Reality. Recognized as a key way to engage consumers and make them vibrate from the brand or product. In recent research, more than 62% of those surveyed found shopping benefits for augmented reality and creativity in packaging.
2) Blockchain. It’s one of those concepts that everyone has heard of, but is often difficult to fully understand. At the AIPIA congress, experts in the sector will show for the first time how a product has been improved with the blockchain, both in supply chain traceability and in consumer digital rewards.
3) Sensors. Sensors are short for all smart tags and chips that can be integrated into modern packages to provide a wide range of benefits. When you think of labels, it is generally made from thick materials, however, smart sensors much smaller than a grain of salt can now be integrated into everyday products.
