Dow Performance Silicones innovates its silicone masterbatch portfolio
Dow Performance Silicones, a global business unit of the DowDuPont Specialties product division, will launch at Fakuma 2018, a new silicone-based slip additive for Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) that optimizes the production of form-fill-seal ( FFS).
At the event to be held from October 12 to 20 at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Center in Germany, the company will also present its HMB-1903, with silicone-based anti-squeak technology for automotive interior parts. The material immediately and permanently reduces the coefficient of friction (COF) in PC / ABS components and minimizes noise, vibration and harshness.
Other advanced silicone-based solutions that the company will showcase at Fakuma target the main sectors of the popular resin and compound industry, including Polyolefins and Polyamides.
Highlights will include anti-scratch technology that improves the aesthetics of automotive interior components and a cost-effective masterbatch that optimizes the processability of Polyethylene (PE) composites for wire and cable insulation and sheathing.
For wear parts used in automotive applications and under the hood, Dow Performance Silicones will highlight a silicone-based solution that offers slip and wear performance similar to Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) additives, but without the use of potentially fluorine. toxic.
For flexible packaging, in addition to the new product to be launched at the fair, the company will feature non-migratory slip technology for PP (BOPP) and PP molded film that enables superior printing and metallization.
