With sustainability becoming increasingly important to consumers and their purchasing decisions, RPC bpi has developed a 100% recyclable shrink film made from 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR).

Developed by the company’s protec packaging arm, the new X-EnviroShrink uses recycled polymer Sustane from recycled RPC bpi products and has an ultra-low carbon footprint, the company said in a Nov. 27 statement.

The product, said Scotland-based plastics group Greenock, is “fully in line” with the latest UK government proposals for plastic packaging and “one of the most sustainable solutions for collation and multi-packaging. of products”.

Available in both plain and printed versions, X-EnviroShrink can be used as a collation shrink for a wide variety of products and markets, including beverage cans and bottles, canned foods, and cartons.

The film can also be used in high-speed packaging processes, such as single or double lane, to help maximize profitability and speed to market.

A recent survey of 1,000 British consumers, commissioned by RPC bpi protec, has shown that 83% of consumers are more likely to choose products with less packaging or recyclable packaging, and 82% use the services of a company that makes an effort for recycling and reducing waste.
